Alpha Canada is home to a diverse team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about Jesus and committed to serving your ministry. We believe a relational approach is the best way to serve you. So please call, email, or tweet us. If you’re in town, let’s grab a coffee. We want to connect.
Since my early 20’s I have felt a deep passion for helping people know Jesus. I will do all I can to make Jesus known, whether it’s through running an Alpha course in my community or encouraging church leaders in the area of evangelism. My role on the Alpha Global Executive team allows me to fulfill my calling to make a difference both nationally and globally. God is doing amazing things in our nation and the world.
Associate National Director
I was born and raised in South Africa and moved to Vancouver to study theology at Regent College. Over the past few years as Alpha’s BC Regional Director, and more recently as our Director of Ministry Development, I have helped re-envision the local church to embrace and re-embrace Alpha as a core and strategic evangelism tool in new and innovative ways.
Saskatchewan Regional Director
I was born and raised on the prairies and graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry. I love the church and I’m passionate to see the Church thrive in Saskatchewan. I believe that Alpha can be the open door of the church that mobilizes the Body of Christ to invite their family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to experience community and discuss life’s biggest questions.
Atlantic Regional Director and Marriage Courses Director
I have 30+ years of ministry experience in the Atlantic region. I love this unique way of life, which comes from living near the ocean where 45% are rural dwellers. Although there is a strong religious heritage here and the majority would call themselves Christian, church attendance has decreased dramatically over the last 10 years. As a baby boomer, my passion is to pass on the baton of faith to the next generation.
New Brunswick and International Churches Regional Director
I’ve been involved with Alpha since 1999 when I started an Alpha in my local church, and I've been on staff since 2005. I love seeing people come to faith in Jesus Christ, so my favourite part of the job is to envision church leaders for evangelism, at home and abroad. My desire is that everyone in Canada would be given the opportunity to explore the Christian faith, and to personally discover Jesus Christ.
Alberta Regional Director
I have been involved with Alpha for over 20 years, since the early ‘90’s, even before Alpha Canada was officially established. I have seen many lives impacted and changed through Alpha’s non-threatening, yet very effective, way of introducing people to Jesus. I’ve seen Alberta go from 61 churches running 111 Alphas to 290 churches running 672 Alphas in 2016.
Ontario Regional Director
I love stories of people finding Jesus. Whether it’s a new found faith or a renewed and revitalized one, I am inspired by transformation. Like many Alpha stories, mine is about a complete life-change and a re-commitment to faith in Jesus after taking an Alpha in 2003 in downtown Toronto. I love this province and I know God does as well.
I was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to Canada 10 years ago. My life took a different turn when I met Jesus through Alpha in 2011. My heart for Manitoba is that thousands who are lost like I was, will encounter faith in Jesus through the local church and the help of Alpha Canada.
Alpha for Youth National Director
I am in search of the best cup of coffee, but usually find myself at Starbucks. I live in Langley, BC with my wife and daughter (Ellie) and we love spending time in Downtown Vancouver pretending like we could live there. Empowering students is my passion, and golf is my frustrating hobby. I invite you to partner with me to help equip students with the good news of who Jesus is so they can feel empowered to share that in their world.
Alpha for Youth Associate - Ontario
I am passionate about seeing students come to know and experience the Good News of Jesus. Having been involved in youth ministry since I was in high school, both as a student and adult leader, and then becoming a full time youth pastor for 10 years, I know how crucial the teen years are in a person’s faith journey. I consider it a great honour to be a part of what Alpha is doing to help churches and ministries reach out to the youth of Canada, and around the world.
Alpha for Youth International Coordinator
I'm one of the co-hosts of the Alpha Youth Series. My wife, Melissa, and I live in Vancouver, BC where, before joining Alpha, I was a youth pastor for 10 years. I am a huge fan of Bear Grylls, Bob Goff, and Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven from Stranger Things). One of the things I love about God is how he uses ordinary, imperfect people to do extraordinary things. Find me on the social medias @benwoodman.
Alpha for Prisons National Director
Since joining the staff of Alpha Canada in 2013, I have been privileged to be a part of the incredible growth of Alpha for Prisons. Alpha is currently being run in almost 50% of Canadian prisons. Although I rejoice and celebrate what has been accomplished, there is still much more to be done. It is my desire to see Alpha run in every prison across our nation, so that every inmate has the opportunity to explore a relationship with Jesus. Within our 176 Correctional Institutions in Canada, there are still many incarcerated men and women that need to encounter Christ.
Alpha for Prisons Associate
The number of adult offenders in Canada’s correctional system has reached 163,000. Of those, 38,000 are serving time in our prisons. We have a unique opportunity to reach these men, women and youth while incarcerated through Alpha. Often a jail cell or institution can be a place of hopelessness but through the help of the local church, trained volunteers, and ministry partners we can bring hope to those who desperately want change. My heart is to see to it that every person in a Canadian prison has the opportunity to have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.
Catholic Church Coordinator
I am thrilled to serve as the Catholic Church Coordinator for Alpha Canada. My heart burns for the New Evangelization, and Alpha is exactly the kind of tool we need today to share the Gospel. It is a proven means of parish renewal, and can be a catalyst for turning regular church-goers into missionary disciples in love with the Lord!
I've worked in Church ministry and marketing my entire adult life. My role at Alpha is to help churches discover and use Alpha and have a great digital experience that makes running Alpha easier. I'm passionate about the local church, and want to help churches create spaces for people to invite their friends to discover Jesus.
I’m one of the hosts of the Alpha Youth Series and a pastor at my home church, Christian Life Assembly. My role at Alpha Canada is to help create resources that serve the local church. I live in Langley, British Columbia with my wife Rachael and my three kids Hudson, Mary and Millie. I love preaching about Jesus, eating chocolate chip cookies and posting pictures of my kids on Instagram.
Having spent my entire career in leadership positions within the philanthropic sector, it is both an honour and a privilege to serve with Alpha. I am passionate about creating a holistic and donor-centred philosophy approach to fund development. I find beauty in nature, gardening, travel and walks on the Tsawwassen beach in BC.
I love spending time with my hubby, Andrew, and laughing with our little girl. I can also eat fruit and sour candy until there is none to be found. Since discovering my own relationship with Jesus as an adult, my passion for the Church has grown as well as the desire to build communities. The amazing stories I hear about guests and our donors being transformed, through Alpha, then giving back generously truly inspire me to do my best to appreciate, welcome and grow our supporters.
Alpha Youth Series Project Manager
Born in Korea and raised in Surrey, BC, I’ve grown up with a combined love for both filmmaking and ministry. At Alpha Canada, I help manage the Alpha Youth Series project as well as develop additional resources and marketing assets. I love helping churches reach their communities more effectively and seeing young people discover Jesus.
Field Services Director
I grew up in Montreal to Chinese and European parents (mmm egg rolls and perogies!). After earning a B.Theology at Summit Pacific in BC, I spent the next 12 years in youth ministry, followed by a short stint in the health services field. I joined the Alpha Canada team in 2004 and have helped host over 25 Alphas. I love simplifying and streamlining processes and systems to support our staff and leaders running Alpha in their communities.
Marketing & Communications Lead
Giving up my life for Jesus was the best decision I have made. Marrying my wife, Sarah, is probably the second. There’s a tie for third between investing in a good watch and moving to Vancouver – time will tell. I like crafting PowerPoint presentations, cycling in the sun listening to vibey music, and seeing the look on people’s faces when they glimpse God’s grace and mercy. I don’t like peanut butter, waiting on hold, or the YouTube comments section.
Assistant to National Director
I was born and raised in Prince George, BC before moving to Abbotsford to attend Summit Pacific College. I have a husband named Shaun and a cat named Jasper who is nice 78% of the time. Before my time at Alpha I was heavily involved with the PAOC and planning youth ministry events like HistoryMaker. At Alpha Canada I support the National Director and I enjoy connecting with and providing support to leaders running Alpha across Canada in their local churches.
Alpha for Youth Administrator
I was born in the Philippines and moved to Canada when I was 17. I grew up in the Catholic Church and am passionate about parish renewal and the New Evangelization. At Alpha, I support both the youth and communications departments. I love serving alongside a dynamic team whose hearts burn for Christ and walking alongside young people in their faith journey. One of my favourite things is to laugh and share a meal around a table with family and friends!
Donor Development Officer
Back in 2012, I started a new journey by renewing my faith through an Alpha in Vancouver. Since then my passion and faith has continually grown while serving at Alpha as a volunteer in Vancouver and Paris. I am the proud mom of Victor and Viviane and a wonderful husband who support my passion for donor development at Alpha Canada so more people in Canada are able to know Jesus!
Creative and Content Manager
I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and live on the beautiful North Shore with my husband, Trevor. I am a bit obsessed with tea, stationery and Hello Kitty. I have the amazing privilege of hearing and sharing stories of people who have had a transformative experience on Alpha. I love supporting churches and leaders with helpful content and resources as they run Alpha in their communities.
Financial Services Assistant
A desire to see people come to know Jesus and a love for numbers makes my role at Alpha a perfect fit for me. I am happy that I can support the work of the national and regional staff and help with the financial aspects required to run a charitable organization. As a mom of four thirty-something adults and a grandmother of eight, I am very aware of how important it is to pass our faith on to the next generation.
Director of Corporate Services
I was born in Trinidad and moved to Canada as a child, so I would definitely consider myself a Canuck. I enjoy a good cup of tea, most televised sports, jazz and spending quality time with my friends and family. I love being able to support our staff, donors and leaders across the country as more and more are invited to hear the Gospel of Jesus at Alpha.
